31 years ago today...
...the love of my life made his debut in the world.
You might say he has come a long way.
The reason today is so special...
is because of the way he makes every other day so amazing
just by being the man he is.
Patient and kind, humble and gentle, he leads our children by example...
...and he leads me with selfless love.
He is the father of my amazing children...
tender and caring,
fun and fun-loving,
big, strong and protecting,
And they are crazy about their daddy.
I can't imagine my life without you, T.
Thanks to Grandmo (who dropped off dinner and a birthday cake!), we were able to celebrate a little tonight even though T was on call and I was home late. Miraculously, he made it home in between hospital consults so that the kids could sing him happy birthday (G-Bear had put the candles on the cake) and eat cake together while he at his dinner. It is a testament to his good nature and even temper that he didn't even complain when his pager went off, calling him back to the hospital, before he even got to eat his cake. Ah, well, such is the life of a resident. We'll just have to make it up to him this weekend :)
As G-Bear said tonight as T tucked her in and kissed her goodnight:
"Daddy, thank you for having a birthday."
We love you, my prince.
