This is the story of our modern day family of seven. Despite our imperfections and the challenges we face, we find joy through lives rooted in the promises of God.
Come spend some time with us as we grow together, living in pursuit of The Happy Ending.
"I have told you these things so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble, but take heart! I have overcome the world." ~John 16:33
The Mama Bear of the Johnson Fairy Tale, I am doing my best to follow Jesus and remain madly in love with my Prince, a carpenter of sorts. A Minnesota girl and an Alabama boy, we met as undergraduates at Princeton. Together we are raising our four precious children, G-Bear, E-Bear, Buddy Bear and J-Bear. In my spare time I am a physician in training trying to cultivate a culture of life, a fan of cooking anything fresh and homemade, and a not-so-secret admirer of southern hospitality.
How is it that I have had ten years with the best Valentine ever?
He happens to be on trauma call tonight.
I love you, T.

I can empathize....my Valentine is on 30 hour MICU call. Sick people need love too. ;)
On a happier note, I love, love, love your blog. Recently - 15 weeks after the birth of our second baby - I returned to work full-time after 18 months of part-time work at home (I'm a lawyer). Loving the work, but missing my babies - your blog has served a tremendous source of peace as my husband and I discern His will for our family and professional lives. :) God bless!
That was one holy, glorious, and triumphant Johnson wedding five years ago. I love the photo.
My Valentine is in Rome for the month of February. I'm sure he and I have some mighty spiritual waves connecting us since he's in the Pope's neighborhood, but I could use some good old-fashioned, in-person romance today too : )
