As April draws to a close in the next few minutes, I have to be sure to record some milestones from the last month.
10. Our G-Bear is officially pedaling her own bike. Look out, she'll be driving before we know it.
8. Our first bike ride evening of the year was on Easter Sunday. You would never know, because the kids look like pros! It seems like this whole month has been gray, cloudy, snowy and rainy. No wonder Baby Bear stayed put for as long as he did! Thank goodness May is upon us.
7. E-Bear started sleeping in his own big boy bed (otherwise known as a mattress on the floor) just before Baby Bear was born. E-Bear loves is so proud of his new bed, jumping into it with so much delight every night. I love the way he so clearly calls it his "too little" bed, whereas his old crib is the "too big" bed, referring to his size relative to the respective beds :)
6. As of his one week appointment, Baby Bear is back at his birth weight! He is also meeting all pooping, peeing, eating and sleeping milestones, but that might be too much information.
5. The Minneapolis Farmer's Market opened today! Unfortunately, I wasn't there, because it was pouring rain and our whole crew slept in until 9am (we'll call it Baby Bear's morning nap). I am so glad Farmer's Market season is starting up again. Hopefully we'll see you there.
4. E-Bear was able to turn on the light in the playroom for the first time this week. He is so tickled with himself! He will turn it on and then skip around the room in delight. Like I said, our new big brother is getting to be such a big kid.
3. G-Bear and E-Bear, our resident big kids, have been allowed to move (ie convinced to move because of the arrival of their brother) their car seats to the back seat of our Sienna. We now call the third row the "Big Kid Seats." Never mind that G-Bear and E-Bear have sat in the same seats for the past 2 years that we have owned the car. They have taken this transition in stride like so many others over the past few weeks. If you are lucky, you might just catch these two best buds in their back seats holding hands.
2. T finished his third and final research presentation at another conference this week. The 'World Tour,' as he jokingly calls it, has come to an end. He submits his final paper rewrite tonight, and I couldn't be more proud of him and all the work he has done. One less thing on the list before graduation!
1. This month has been huge for us! A fourth birthday, a thirtieth birthday, a new birthday, a natural childbirth, Easter.... wow, what a month. We have so much to be thankful for. And, with two graduations, multiple trips from Nana, and several more family birthdays in the coming weeks, we have a lot to look forward to as well. Thanks be to God!
what a big month!!
